RYA Helmsman Course From: €800
The RYA Helmsman course with ionianMode in Greece is the most suitable course for beginners
The RYA Helmsman Course is ideal for beginners. It’s the ideal course for those who want to be active crew members and not just passengers and for those who want to learn the basics and gain experience to move to the next step.
The 2-Day Schedule
- On day one you will join the yacht and you will meet the rest of the crew and your instructor. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and briefed by your instructor about the basics regards the yacht and the surroundings. Once everyone has arrived we will have the chance to discuss the course and the plan for the week.
- The course starts from our base in Lefkas (Sivota Bay) at 09.00 and finishes the next afternoon.
About the Course
This two-day course covers basic boat handling, helmsmanship, safety, and basic engine maintenance. It aims to teach boat handling & safety within a defined area. It is specific to the type of boat in which the course is carried out and is therefore particularly suitable as an own boat course for new owners of motor cruisers who are conscious of the difficulty and potential hazards of boat handling in the marina. It is useful for crews as well as skippers. Apart from the obvious safety benefits of extra boat handlers on board, it adds interest if everyone can contribute to the trip.
